MRI Simulator

The MRI Centre is equipped with an MRI simulator or mock-scanner. This MRI simulator is marketed by the “Psychology Software Tools” company (See model here).

Installed in a room of the MRI Centre entirely dedicated to the training of the subjects, this simulator is intended to familiarize the volunteers with the confinement and noise stress of the tunnel. It also makes it possible to train these subjects to carry out specific tasks in such an environment (which is not very friendly) and, what is more, in a lying position.

The simulator is coupled with a stimulation environment that is duplicated in its main functions (main stimulation and response peripherals, identical software environment and hardware interfaces). This training room has thus become an essential tool for many studies, particularly involving child or elderly volunteers.
